Choose the right site and warehouse:
1) The site and warehouse for storing steel products should be clean, with good drainage, and away from factories and mines which produce harmful gases or dust. Weeds and other stuff should be removed in order to keep the steel clean. 
2) Steel products should not be put with acid, alkali, salt and cement which are corrosive. Different kinds of steel should be stacked separately to prevent mixing and corrosion.
3) Large-scale structural steel, steel rail, large diameter steel pipe, forgings can be stacked in the open air.
4) Small and medium-scale steel, steel wire rod, steel bar, medium diameter steel pipe, steel wire and wire rope can be stored in a well-ventilated shed, but with cover on the top and something under. 
5)Small scale steel, thin steel plate, steel band, silicon steel sheet, small diameter or thin-walled steel pipe, all kinds of cold-rolled, cold-drawn steel and metal products which have high price and easily corrode can be stored in the warehouse.
6) The warehouse should be selected according to geographical conditions, we often adopt ordinary closed warehouse, that is, a roof with walls, tight doors and windows and ventilation device.
7) We should pay attention to the ventilation of the warehouse in sunny days and prevent moisture in rainy days so as to keep the appropriate storage environment.
